Class 1's First week back

07 Sep 2022

What a wonderful start to the term we have had, the children have really made us proud with how well they have come back this week. The children have settled beautifully and have enjoyed seeing each other again.

We have been very busy exploring our new classroom, making firepits, cafes, farms and much more. The children have worked well together, sharing not only the resources and toys but their ideas which has been lovely to see.

The children have also enjoyed mark-making, drawing lots of lovely pictures, writing their names and some words. We drew pictures of something we enjoyed in the holidays, it sounds like you were all very busy! Some of the children annotated their pictures with some words to tell us about what they did while others explained verbally. They have made lots of lovely pictures to send home as well.

Later in the week, we started our history topic on toys and technology. The big question we are trying to answer is: How have toys and technology changed over the last 70 years?
Thank you for sending in some toys with the children, they enjoyed sharing these and describing them to their friends. On Friday, we started to think about toys from our past and discuss how our interests in toys have changed.

Here is some information of our class, this was also sent out in a letter to you all so I hope it has made its way to you:

Finally, we would like to just ask that all of the children's clothes are labeled, everything from socks to coats. They have done really well this week at remembering or checking but it would be of great help to us. Thank you!

Have a lovely weekend!
