Spring 2 - Ramadan, minibeasts and snow!

31 Mar 2022

This week in class 1...

In PE with Mr Whitford this week we have been practicing moving quickly and throwing an object, and then introduce moving with an object under control. We used bean bags to control and balance first and then some of us challenged ourselves to use a tennis ball.

On Tuesday afternoon, the whole school had some activities to find out about our whole school faith of the year - Islam. We were finding out about Ramadan. Mrs Lewis explained what Ramadan is and how it is celebrated and then we joined with Class 2 to complete some activities and listen to a story and a song. We had a great afternoon working in class 2!

On Thursday we had some snow to explore! We had lots of fun moving it around and had a go at making some snowmen too.

Following our story this week about The Extraordinary Gardener, we have been thinking about creatures who live in soil and on plants. We found some tiny creatures in our classroom too... minibeasts! The children have been getting creative, moving like different minibeasts and also creating their own clues for others to guess the minibeasts. See if you can guess what they are...

We worked hard to make sure our butterfly was symmetrical and gave them antennas
