Week 4 in Class 1

30 Sep 2020

Week 4 - Our Amazing Bodies!

This week we have been exploring our bodies. We stuck labels to
s
how where our body parts were. We also sang songs with the names of different body parts and showed our super dance moves too!

In class 1 we are always using our hands to make wonderful
creations. This week we have made models with duplo, built a den using crates
, sheets and bricks, used play doh to make our letters in phonics, made paintings by printing with sponge shapes and used different collage materials to
cover the first letter of our name.

In PE with Miss Wray and Mr Whitford we found changes to our body when we were active. We got hot, our hearts were beating faster and some of us got out of breath from all of the running around!

On Thursday afternoon, we went on a treasure hunt using our senses. We had to find different sounds, textures, colours and smells.

Phonics
Our new phonemes this week are
     c                ck
Please can you help your child to recognise these graphemes (letters), say the phonemes (sounds) and practise writing them. Can you find them in your books at home? The children are bringing home a sheet to build on our class phonics work. This can be returned to school to be added to their learning journey folders or you can take a picture and upload it onto Evidence me to let me know how they got on yes
This week the children have also been learning the first 5 tricky words. They have a copy of these in their book bags to keep at home. Please help your child to recognise these words as this will help them with their reading.

Have a lovely weekend, see you on Monday smiley
