Week 3 in Class 1

24 Sep 2020

Week 3 at Fountains School

We have reached the end of our third week at school. This week we have all completed a computer based assessment with Miss Wray. The children will be bringing home a report with their baseline in the next week and if you would like to discuss anything following this, please get in touch.

We have been looking at photographs to help us talk about our homes. We created paintings of our homes but we didn't use paint brushes, can you guess what we used?
Here is our lovely art work smiley

We also had fun looking at baby photographs and trying to guess who each baby has grown into!
We have shared pictures of our families and talked about the special things we do together.

Hugo "I like going on holiday"
Emily "I went to Sundown World with my Mummy"
Jack "I went to Centre Parcs with my family"
William " Baking with my Mummy"
Harry "Going to the seaside"
Luke "playing with Lexi"
Archie "my holiday to Disney land"
Xander "I went to Legoland with Mummy, Daddy and my sister"

Our phonics this week has looked at the following new letters:

d

We have also revisited s a t p i n from previous lessons. The children have brought home an activity to support learning the letter sounds. please help your child to recognise, say and write each letter. The video below has the pure sounds for each letter to help with pronunciation. The pure sounds are important as they help with blending the sounds into words which is a key skill for reading.
There is also a PowerPoint under the curriculum tab with information about how we teach reading and writing, I hope you find it useful.

Have a lovely weekend smiley
