This week in Class 1 - 7.05.21

06 May 2021

This week in Class 1... More minibeasts!

We have been looking closely at the different minibeasts and using information books to find more facts about them. We have sorted them into groups by how many legs they have and how they move using our knowledge and by looking closely at pictures.

We shared the story of the Creepy Crawly Calypso and made up our own version by thinking about how the minibeasts move.

In the creative area we have been making minibeasts using junk materials, can you guess what they are?
In Phonics we have been focusing on tricky words to read and spell. We have unscrambled letters into words, been on a word hunt and played bingo to help us to recognise each of the words so far. We have also been looking out for the tricky words in our reading books too! We are word detectives!
The homework activity this week is a wordsearch to find some of our tricky words, don't forget to see if you can spot any in your reading books too.

In maths, we have been meeting the teen numbers 11, 12, 13 and 14. We have been looking at how they are made up of a ten and some ones and noticing other number patterns that we can see in the groups of objects that make each number.

Have a lovely weekend smiley
