Transition week - Day 4

15 Jul 2020

Hello Class 1, it's Thursday! smiley I chose this picture of the beach today because it reminds me of holidays! Ihope we will have lots of sunny days over the summer holiday so that we can go to the beach.

How has your week been so far? I had a lovely day yesterday in school. It was really nice to see some of the teachers and children again and to meet some of you too. The school looks a little different at the moment because a lot of the toys and tables have had to be moved but over the summer I am going to be working hard to get our classroom ready for us in September and it is going to look super fun!

Today the activities are all about our likes yes and dislikes no

You can choose to do any of these activities or all of them if you have time. I would love to hear from you so let me know which activity you enjoyed: class1@gfschools.co.uk

5 of my favourites

Ask a grown up to help you make a 5 frame using string or tape on the floor. Write a number in each box (like the picture) Can you find different things you like for each box? Try and match the amount of your favourite things to the number.

 Mine would be:

1 – puzzles

2 – chocolate

3 – cup of tea

4 – books

5 – strawberries

Get moving!

Dancing makes me happy, I love watching Strictly Come Dancing in the autumn and wish I could dance like they do!

Why don’t you play a game of musical statues with the people in your house. Remember – when the music stops, you have to stand very still. Let me know what music you like to dance along to.

Picnic

Who loves a picnic? When we were not allowed to go out of our houses because of the nasty bug we had lots of picnics – in our back garden, on the front drive, even once on the floor in the bedroom when it was raining outside!

Maybe today you could have a picnic with your family or for your toys. Don’t forget to count how many people there are so that you have enough sandwiches, biscuits, fruit and anything else you like to eat. Where would you go for your picnic?

Snakes and ladders

Have you played snakes and ladders? Can you make your own version of snakes and ladders? When you come to a ladder, I would like you to think of something you like – food, toys, activities, places. When you come to a snake I would like you to think of something you dislike. Maybe the people you play the game with could write down your thoughts?

Here are my snakes and ladders.

Sing-along

My little girl loves songs and rhymes. We have chosen a few that we enjoy, do you know them as well? You can join us for a sing along or sing your own favourite nursery rhymes and songs. Maybe you could send a video for us to sing-along to. I am sure we will have lots of singing time in Class 1smiley

Screen time

I have found an episode from Hey Duggee for us to watch today – the favourite badge. It can be found on Iplayer, Series 3 Episode 29

Have a great day!
