Buddhist Centre, a special picnic and sport's day
26 Jun 2024
On Monday, the year twos visited the Buddhist Centre in York. This was excellent for developing our knowledge of Buddhism. The children enjoyed learning about the key beliefs in the faith including how kindness is very important and that helping others is vital. The children learned with a but of drama and acting. They looked at the artefacts that were around the centre.
Then we did some spiritual activies on the grounds, looking at the animals and plants.
Meanwhile the rest of class one enjoyed a peaceful day at school. We had a special picnic at lunchtime on the field with playgroup. Mrs Ward had made us a delicious lunch of sausage rolls, cheese straws, burgers and lots of vegetables. The children enjoyed eating under the shady trees then going to play with the playgroup children.
On Thursday, we had our sports day. Class one did a fantastic job of cheering each other on! They showed lots of determination and resilience which was fantastic. The class did lots of races, including running, skipping, sack, beanbag and a water relay.
Have a super weekend!
