Happy New Year!

R Hebblewhite - 13 Jan 2020

Happy New Year to you all! We have had a lovely first week back in Class One. I am thoroughly enjoying getting to know your children – they are a delight to teach and I am really looking forward to being their teacher for the rest of the year! It has also been great to meet you too. Thank you all for being so welcoming!

This week, we have been reading the story of ‘Goldilocks And The Three Bears’. We tried hard to remember the order of events in the story and then acted it out, using props. Some of us have also made our own bear masks, to act out the tale with friends. We talked about the language of size in the story and in Maths have been learning how to order groups of objects by size.

We are enjoying our new class reward chart, our ‘Treetop Treats’! and have been talking about what makes a good class member. We have begun to write our own ‘tops tips’ on how to reach the top of the tree, which we will display next to our tree:  Charlie wrote, “Listen on the carpet”, Jack wrote, “Help tidy up” and Duncan wrote, “Share the Fire Engine”.

Next week we will be learning more new sounds in Phonics, which we will be using to write a letter of apology to Baby Bear, on behalf of Goldilocks, for breaking his chair!

Have a lovely weekend!

Mrs Hebblewhite
