In class one, we love learning french. The children really enjoy the lessons, learning new vocabulary and songs. This half-term, we are looking at transport. So far, we have looked at the french for car, plane and boat. The children can say:
- The boat floats - Le bateau flotte

In Maths, we have been learning about fractions then this week we have began applying this to descring turns. We used terms such as a whole, quater, half and three quaters to describe the turns an objects or person can make. We then began to discuss clockwise and anticlockwise as well. The children really enjoyed playing a game with soft toys where they were given an instruction and had to follow it to move e.g. facing the dog, make a quater turn clockwise.
In reception, we did some writing about the features of a castle. The children used images of castles to identify and name the key features before writing sentences about what they could see.
On Wednesday, Mr Pinto came to talk to us about internet safety. He told a story about staying safe online and not talking to strangers on games. Also, we spoke about the things we use the internet for and what is age appropriate.
In our provision, we have been busy making sheilds. The children enjoyed painting and drawing on their sheilds then using them in the role play castle outside.
Have a great weekend!
