Computing, DT and Music
20 Mar 2024
In computing, we have been using the programme maze explorers where we have to direct an object around the screen using direction arrows and then including numbers. They got more complex where we had to create a sequence for our character to get from one place on the map to another then fix their sequence if it didn't work. We really enjoy our computing lessons!
In music, we have been looking at music sequences. We used the tools in 2sequence and 2beat to create music patterns and explored changing speed and volume. It is interesting to explore the different ways music can be made and changed.
This week has also been DT week, we have focused on sliders and leavers, using them to make Easter cards. We began by researching Easter cards then practiced the skill of making a slider and leaver before designing our own. We then used our design to support us to make an Easter card. Finally, we evaulated our product.
In our classroom areas, we have been enjoying using our outside area to make dens and other large construction. The children have also enjoyed making even more Easter cards.
After half-term, the children will have forest schools on a friday afternoon. The weather will hopefully be dry and warm but please can children come with a forest school kit that will be suitable for them to be outside all afternoon. This could include, old jogging bottoms, wellies, a waterproof or overalls. Anything you don't mind coming home a bit muddy!
The teacher of forest schools, Mrs Gillespie, has asked if parents could possibly donate any bulbs or seeds that the children could plant.
Have a lovely Easter break!
