Letters
13 Mar 2024
This week our year one and two children finished writing their letters to Mrs Acheson to ask if we could go on a school trip next term. The children were very enthusiastic and excited to show their letter to her. We began the unit several weeks ago by looking at example letters and identifying the audience, purpose and key features. The children then moved on to practice using exclamation marks and questions which could be used in their letters. Once we had finished writing, we edited our letters and wrote them up neatly. Mrs Acheson was very impressed and has agreed to let us visit Bolton Castle in May (more information to follow nearer the time.)
In PE with Mr Whitford, the reception children have been doing dance and everyone else has been on net/wall games. We have been trying to work hard as a team in our games and focusing on our resillience. The reception have been moving very engergetically to music to perform their dances! The video of reception is on Tapestry.
In our areas, we have enjoyed getting ready for Easter by creating Easter masks and cards as well as Easter egg hunts.
We have also been doing lots of writing including Easter cards and poems.
Thank you to all who attended parents' evening, it was lovely to talk to you all. We are very grateful for all of your support.
Finally, just to note, next week I will be out of class on Wednesday morning and Friday.
Have a great weekend!
