Computing and PE in class one
17 Jan 2024
Another super week in class one!
In PE with Miss Thewsey, we have started a unit on dance. We really enjoyed talking about the seasons and using them to inspire our dancing. We had a piece of music and used 8 counts to begin to create our dance. We imagined it was snowy and icy so we glided round the hall like we were iceskating. Then we added in a twist starting low and getting higher. Finally, we finished with a snowflake pose. The children did a fantastic job of listening to the music, well done class one.
In computing, we have been using PurpleMash to help us create a story. The children are excellent at logging themselves in and are gaining lots of confidence in using the computers. On the 2createastory program, we drew pictures to create an illustration then captioned the picture to tell our story.
On Thursday we had a visit from Sporting Influence. Mr Atkinson came to teach us all some first aid, it was very interesting. He talked to us about what first aid is and who we might trust to help us in an emergency. Then we looked at how we would call the emergency services if we needed to. Finally, we talked about getting lost and what to do. We should stay still and use our grown-ups names to shout for them. If we see an adult in a uniform we could ask them for help by describing our grown-up. We played a game a bit like guess who to practice our describing.
In our areas, we have enjoyed being outside despite the cold temperatures! The children have also liked getting creative, making lots of lovely creations such as vehicles, dens, braclets and farms.
Have a lovely weekend.
