Class one- week 5
01 Feb 2023
We completed our last week of Geography this week. We have spent the half-term comparing the UK and Kenya. The children have really loved this topic, we have found Kenya to be very intriguing! We have looked at the land use of both countries and compared these. There are lots of similiarities and differences. For example, both countries have cities and farms etc but how they work is very different. To finish our topic of we made posters which include writing our learning of each country as well as lots of lovely pictures. Some of our favourite facts include:
- The big 5 live in Africa:
- The weather is different. In Africa it is much hotter.
- In Africa people visit by going on safaris
- In Africa, some houses are made of wood and mud.
- Both countries have coastlines, cities, farms and much more.
We have enjoyed exploring our areas. Year one have been completeing more challenges which they have been enjoying. This week lots of them did some extra cards, they decided Mother's Day Cards would be nice to make!
In the home corner, we have been making some different foods and serving them to our families. The babies are very well cared for!
Outside is still all of our favourite place to be. We have been making all sorts with the construction area, including an obstacle course. We turned it into a competition by timing each child and writing it down. The winner was Sid with a time of 9 second.
Have a lovely weekend!
