Art and PSHE
30 Nov 2022
In PSHE, we have spent several weeks focusing on the piece "Celebrating Difference". Within this unit, the children have considered in what ways they are the similar and different. Each child has their own gingerbread man and each week we are building it up by adding parts. We have shared our ideas of similarities and differences by writing and drawing on his top, trousers and shoes so far.
This week we had our Art enrichment week where our focus was on printing. We took inspiration from Andy Warhol, looking at two of his prints of Marilyn Monroe and Campbell's soup. We identified some of the characteristics of his artwork such as the repetition and brightness of colours. Then we used fruit and vegetables to practice printing, they made lots of different textures and shapes. Once we had some this, we designed a print of our own and had a practice. Finally, we made wrapping paper using the print.
We have also enjoyed exploring our areas. We have been getting into the Christmas spirit with more dressing up and some crafts. The children decorated Christmas tree with lots of colourful tinsel, pom poms and sequins.
We also enjoyed riding the bikes and scooters on the playground.
Thank you for starting to send it costumes for the Nativity. We appreciate it can be hard to get clothing so please speak to us if you have any problems.
Have a lovely weekend!
