Class 1's second week
14 Sep 2022
It has been another lovely week in class 1! The children continued to amaze us with how well they have settled in and grown accustumed to routines.
In Maths, our focus is on number with reception learning numbers to 5 and year one looking at numbers to 10. The children have loved showing off their counting skills and finding objects to match our numbers. They have also been practising their formation of
their numbers. We have used 10 frames and number blocks to help us represent the numbers in different ways.
Pupil Voice Day
We had a great day on Wednesday, spending time as a whole school for Pupil Voice Day. We designed Mascots, read with the older children and we ran a mile around the school field in our coloured teams. The children really enjoyed spending time with the other classes, working together to create some lovely art.
Homework
We will be sending out homework on Tuesday as Monday is a bank holiday. Children will recieve a reading book they have read in school and a sharing book. All children have a phonics sheet which outlines what we have been learning and some suggested activities. Year 1 will also have some spellings.
Please return these on Monday the 26th.
Finally, just to let you know Miss Rogers will be teaching the children in the morning of Thursday the 22nd.
Have a lovely weekend.
