Summer 1 - journeys
11 May 2022
This week in Class 1...
We have been continuing to think about different methods of transport and the things we see around us while we are travelling around.
We thought about our journey to school and wrote about some of the things we see.
We made our own town map and used super positional language to talk about where things were and how to get there. We are using our phonic knowledge to write words and developing our sentence construction.
We used the bee bots to programme them to follow a route too. They had lots of adventures travelling around our classroom and we had fun making tunnels and garages for them.
In maths, we selected different shapes to make pictures of different vehicles. We named the shapes and talked about what we had made and why we had chosen those shapes.
We finished the week with some music. We sang some songs about different types of transport and used percussion instruments to play along. We explored loud and quiet and had a go at making different vehicle sounds.
Next week we are going a little further on our travels... if you have any junk boxes and tubes, please send them in to school so we can build our transport!!
Have a lovely weekend, See you on Monday!
