Spring 1 - Week 4
26 Jan 2022
This week in Class 1...
We continued to think about polar regions and shared a new story about 2 penguins who floated away on an iceberg. We talked about what the polar regions are like and found out about some animals who live there. We used our phonic knowledge to write some words to add facts to our pictures.
We know that in the winter there is not much food around for the birds so we made some food for the birds in some coconut shells and waited quietly to see if any came to visit!
In PE this week with Mr Whitford we have been continuing to explore body shape, movement and balance. We used benches and boxes to travel along, under, over and around.
In maths this week we have been starting to explore the numbers 6 and 7 and using our counting skills to count groups of objects. We have been using our skills of noticing to help us see smaller numbers within numbers.
In our Jigsaw PSHE lessons we are thinking about dreams and goals. Over the last few weeks we have been thinking about challenges and how we can overcome them. This week we have been thinking about something we would like to get better at.
Next week we are going to follow the penguins as they trave somewhere a bit warmer. We will be exploring a different part of the world and finding out some things about what it is like to live there.
Have a great weekend!
