Week 11 - Autumn term
25 Nov 2021
This week in class 1...
We shared the story Monkey Puzzle as a starting point to think about describing different jungle animals. We found out about the different animals that live in jungles across the world and chose one we would like as a pet! The children knew how to look after a pet and thought about the games their pets would be good at playing - a giraffe who would play catch and a monkey on the swings at the park!
.
We have been describing animals and using our phonic knowledge to write words in our writing books. We talked about how the animals look, what body parts they have and how they move. We thought about why the animals like to live in the jungle and what the weather is like there too.
Here is some of our super writing
We made some of our own animals using junk materials too.
In phonics we have been looking at new digraphs

In maths this week we have been sorting and grouping. We have looked at the properties of shapes and talked about why we have grouped objects in different ways.
We also continued some repeating patterns.
Next week we are going under the sea! If you have any cereal boxes or shoe boxes please can you send them in for another creative project!
Have a lovely weekend
