Week 10 - Autumn term
17 Nov 2021
This week in Class 1...
This week was anti bullying week. We have been thinking about how our words and actions can affect others. We thought about lots of kind things that we can say or do to others to make them feel happy and welcome.
"we could say please and thank you"
"we can invite our friends to play with us"
"we can give them a gift"
"we can share with them"
We have been sharing the story of 'Giraffes can't dance' It has linked with anti-bullying as the animals were not very kind to Gerald the Giraffe in the beggining of the story because he was different but they soon realised that being different makes people special.
We talked about the animals that live in the jungle and looked at how they look, what makes them similar or different to each other.
We made some pictures of the animals using stencils and created our own jungle in the classroom!
We have also looked at some animals when they were babies.
We matched them to their grown ups and learned baby animal names. We found that different animals sometimes had the same baby names.
The children wanted to make bird feeders so we used our fine motor skills to create some tasty treats for them in our outdoor area.
On Friday it was Children in Need day. We had lots of fun during the day as well as raising money for charity. The children all completed the 1Km run, did a work out with Joe Wicks and we played some Pudsey phonics games too.
Next week we are going to get crafty - please can you send in any card tubes (e.g. kitchen roll centres) Thank you
Have a lovely weekend!
