Week 9 - Autumn Term
08 Nov 2021
This week in class 1...
We started with the story of The Gruffalo and a book called Tidy. In these stories we met some woodland animals and thought about the types of homes they live in. We had a go at making some animal homes and thinking about why they live in these places.
We thought about what would happen if there were no trees and what it would be like. We decided that this would not be such a good thing and made pictures to show all of the important reasons we need trees - homes for animals, provide food and help drink the water and clean the air too!
On Thursday it was Remembrance Day. We talked about the reasons why we have Remembrance Day and made some poppies.
In phonics this week we met the new sounds:
v w x y
In maths this week we explored shapes that have 4 and 5 sides. We also talked about time and sequencing events in our day.
We would like to restock our junk modelling if you have any boxes, bottles or tubes please send them in.
Have a lovely weekend!
