Week 7 - Autumn term
18 Oct 2021
The end of a busy half term...
This week we have been thinking about harvest. We shared the story of The Little Red Hen and made some bread. We all helped to measure, mix and knead the dough and we enjoyed eating it too! We remembered what we did to make the bread and the order we did each thing too.
In the Autumn, it is also Halloween. We made pumpkins using paper and googly eyes!
This morning we took part in our whole school Harvest festival. We sang a song and shared some our our artwork to remember why we are thankful at harvest time.
We have had lots of fun adventures in PE with Mr Whitfield this half term. Each week we have been learning and practising different skills. We finished the half term with Mr Whitfield awarding 2 wristbands for effort, listening skills and having a good attitude in all of our lessons.
In phonics, we have been checking our knowledge of the letter sounds from over the last 5 weeks. The children are bringing home an activity to help them to practise their letter knowledge over the holidays.
In maths we have met the numbers 4 and 5. We have been concentrating on our careful counting and recognising numbers to 5.
Well done Class 1, I am very impressed with how you are settling into school - you are all stars!
I hope you have a lovely and restful half term holiday. See you on Tuesday 2nd November.
