Week 4 Summer 2
30 Jun 2021
This week in Class 1
This week we have been exploring fruit and vegetables. We started with a story...
Olivers Vegetables by Vivian French
We made a chart to show our favourite fruit and vegetables. Class 1's favourite fruits are apples and our favourite vegetable is a carrot. We noticed that the most popular had the longest line and the least popular had the shortest.
We looked at where different fruit and vegetables come from and how they grow.
We finished the week by making smoothies. We cut and prepared the fruit and designed our smoothie combinations. We enjoyed tasting our creations!
In phonics this week we have been looking at tricky words and using our phonic knowledge to write sentences. This weeks homework is to see if you can find the hidden tricky words in the pictures.
In maths this week we have been learning about sharing. We know that to share fairly, each group has to have the same amount and have been making sure the fruit was shared equally between the pirates!
Next week - Sports day on Tuesday, 1pm. Please make sure that your child has their PE kit in school. Due to current guidance, 1 family member can come along to watch.
Have a lovely weekend, see you next week!
