This week in Class 1... Another half term over!
We have been keeping an eye on our caterpillars and they have been getting fatter and longer this week! We have used our fingers to measure them, when they arrived they were the size of our finger nail but now they are half our finger in length!
We used an information book to find out about butterflies and made our own life cycle wheels to show the stages in the life of a butterfly.
We have also been practising our writing and have written some minibeast clues - we listened to each other's clues and guessed which minibeast had been described. The clues were very good and we got them all right
In phonics we have been practising our segmenting and blending some more. Don't forget to keep reading over the holidays and if you would like some more phonic practise, you could try one of these websites:
https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/
https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zcqqtfr
https://www.topmarks.co.uk/Search.aspx?q=Phonics%20games
As the word searches were a big hit, the children are bringing home a few if they have time to be word detectives during the holiday!
In maths we have been looking at the number 10 and finding different ways to make 10 using number bonds. The children have all worked very hard again this half term, well done
You should have received the individual and class photographs this week, please let me know if you have not received these.
We hope you have a lovely half term holiday with your friends and families, See you on Monday 7th June!
