Welcome back!

It's the start of the Summer term!
We have had a busy week in Class 1, Our magic box contained a story about a ladybird...
We drew a picture and wrote about one of the characters.
We received a box of interesting things in Class 1. We found magnifying glasses, torches, nets and pots. We used them to become bug detectives and went outside to see what we could find. We are going to keep looking over the next few weeks to see what we can find around our school as we learn more about these creepy crawlies!
In phonics we have been learning some new phonemes:
air and ear
We have also been looking at the capital letters for each letter of the alphabet. In your book bags there is a sheet to practise over the weekend. You could have a go at writing the capital letters too.
In maths we have been noticing patterns in numbers. We are getting good at spotting groups of objects using our subitising skills. We have also been counting and finding the number that is 1 more.
This week, we launched our new PSHE scheme, called ‘Jigsaw’. We have enjoyed meeting our Jigsaw friends, Jerrie cat and Jigsaw Jenie. We also spent some time thinking about ways to help us to be calm. The first unit we are completing is 'Being me in my World'. We began by creating a jigsaw charter; we shared our ideas about ways that help us all to feel safe and special in our class.
Have a lovely weekend and we will see you again on Monday... I wonder what we will find next week!
