Autumn 2 - Week 2

Poppies and spots!
This week we have found out about Remembrance Day and the ways we remember. On Wednesday we held a 1 minute silence to think about the soldiers who have fought in wars to keep our country safe and help others. We also used some of the areas of the classroom to make poppies in different ways.
Friday was Children in Need day and we have had lots of spotty fun going on treasure hunts, making masks and seeing how many spots we can put on our friends!
Our story this week was Goldilocks and the three bears. One morning the Three Bears had left their porridge - they had some interesting ideas for toppings... jam, honey, ketchup and marmite!
We enjoyed making our own masks and acting out the story.
In phonics this week we have met these new graphemes:
w y z
The children have chosen some of the letters we have met so far to look revisit at home. Please help them to practise writing the letters and see what words they can think of that start with each of their letters.
They could draw pictures or have a go at writing the words next to each of the letters.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend, see you on Monday!
