Transition week - Day 2
13 Jul 2020
I hope you all had a lovely day yesterday, I loved seeing some of the things you had been doing at home
Today the activities are all about your family
You can choose to do any of these activities or all of them if you have time. I would love to hear from you so let me know which activity you enjoyed: class1@gfschools.co.uk
Family portrait
Can you draw or paint a picture of your family? What colour hair does each person have? What colour eyes do they have? How many people live in your house?
This is a picture of my family, my little boy did this earlier in the year at preschool.
Who’s the tallest?
Who is the tallest person in your family? Can you order your family by size? Can you build a tower as tall as one of your family members? We made a tower as tall as my little boy Harry - it was knocked down before I could take a picture
Get moving!
I love yoga – It is a time when I can relax. Today I thought we could go on a bear hunt!

Story time
Share a favourite book with someone in your family. Can you send me a message and tell me what your favourite book is called and why you like it? Where is your favourite place to read? I like to curl up in a cosy place to read, then I can imagine I am one of the characters in the story – searching for bears, walking through the jungle, a princess in a tower, helping my friends… wherever the story takes me!
Guess who…
I enjoy playing games with my family and with children in my class, one of my favourite games is ‘guess who’
Play with someone in your house. Can you describe someone who is in your family? Can they guess who you are describing?
See if you can guess who I am describing… they are one of the people in this picture – Craig, Me, Harry and Lottie
They have dark blue eyes,
They have a little bit of light brown hair,
They are a girl
Can you guess who it is?
Screen time
Here is an episode from Topsy and Tim I thought you might like to watch. They are starting school too and at first they are a bit scared. When they get to school though they have lots of fun! How are you feeling about starting school? If you have any questions or worries about starting school, ask your grown ups to send me a message and I will try to help.

Family sort
Do you have photographs of the different people in your family? I wonder if you can sort them into groups – put together the people who have the same colour hair? Can you put them into boys or girls? Grown ups or children? Are they human or an animal?
See how many different ways can you sort the people in your family.
I look forward to seeing what you get up to today
Have a great day
Miss Wray
