Good Morning Class One and Class One parents!
I hope you had a great start to the week!
Look! I have found a fun song for us to join in with.
Helpful Hands!
Well done for helping your grown-up yesterday.
Look at these helpful hands!
Your job today is to:
Organise your bedroom and give everthing its own home! Perhaps you could make
some labels to go on your draws, using your phonic knowledge?
Phonics
Look at these excellent signs! Well done, everyone!
Turn-off the lights! Does that belong in the bin?
r
Sort your rubbish!
Pick up rubbish! Turn off the TV! Don't litter the sea!
Tricky Word Wheels
Tommy has a mesage for Max "Great idea, Max!"
Perhaps you would like to would like to practise some of those tricky digraphs this morning. Afterwards, why don't you see how many you can write?

Maths
What a great weather chart, Tommy!
Isaac Boo has found a great spot for his weather gauge.
Robert has been busy using a ruler to measure in centimetres.
Perhaps today you could play a throwing and timing game, to practise your 3D shapes. Set a timer for one minute. Set a tub next to each 3D shape. How many soft toys can you throw into each tub? Be sure to name the shape as you throw!
Could you Make a spinner (numbered 1-6) and play a building game with lego? Each time you spin, say the number that is 1 more/2more and 1 less/2 less than your number. Add this number of bricks to your tower. Who can build their tower to 20 first?!
Projects
Here are some projects for this week:
The project this week aims to provide opportunities for your child to learn more about the environment. Learning may focus on changes to different environments, the impact of humans on environments, climate change etc .
Recycling/ Exploring Materials
Provide your child with a selection of packaging to sort into groups to recycle. Can they identify plastic, paper, card, metal.
Create your own rain cloud
Use a plastic container with a lid (e.g. a water bottle) and make small holes on one side. You could stick on cotton wool to decorate. Fill the container with water and watch as the water drips out
Weather sounds (Rainmakers)
Provide your child with either a plastic container, bottle or other junk modelling item. Pour in a spoon or two of rice or lentils and secure with a bottle lid or sellotape. Decorate with stickers, glitter and sequins if you have them available. Have fun exploring making rain sounds.
Ice
Watch the ‘Frozen' song, 'In Summer’. Discuss with your child what they think will happen to Olaf when it gets warm. Support your child to fill up ice cube trays or plastic containers, if ice cube trays are not available, and freeze. Once frozen, take them out and explore how quickly they melt: in your hands, in the fridge, on the windowsill and when blown with the hairdryer. Make some ice-lollies.
Search on Google Maps for the UK. Discuss with your child the colour of the land and sea. Scroll up to look at the Arctic. Discuss why the land looks different in the Arctic, because the land is covered in ice and snow. Discuss the differences in temperature in the UK and the Arctic. Look at a picture of an igloo on google. Fill an ice cube tray with water and when frozen take out and support your child to create their own igloo out of the ice cubes.
Have a lovely day today and remember to look after one another.
