Seasides and Rock Pools
04 Jul 2019
We have had a lovely week this week enjoying the good weather and spending lots of time outdoors. We have done the daily mile each day and we are getting better each time we do it.
In our outdoor area this week we found a rockpool and on Monday we gathered round it to read a story, Platypus. We quickly guessed why the shell disappeared every night and were excited to look through our rock pool to see if we had any hermit crabs living there.
This story inspired lots of thinking about animals who might live at the seaside or in the sea and we created some different pieces of art. We made a paper plate octopus and we collaged a beautiful seahorse.
The lovely weather got us thinking about the seasons again and so we talked about what it was like in Summer, which objects we would need in each season, how we could keep safe when it is warm and sunny and then drew a tree in each of the different seasons.
