Class 3 Guided Reading

11 Nov 2022

Second week back after the half term break and we are moving onto our new topics that will run up to Christmas.

On Monday, we began our week by introducing our new book for whole class guided reading. We think our new book – ‘The Street Beneath My Feet’ - will link with our new science project – rocks – which we also started this week. I am using the words ‘we think’ because our first lesson this week was focused on prediction. We discussed as a class what we thought the book would be about from details provided by only the front cover and title. As a class, we discussed what clues the illustrations and words gave us and used our inferring skills to predict the content. Finally, we recorded our thoughts by creating a mind map and predicting the answers to some questions.

I hope our predictions are correct as the ideas we came up with would make a very interesting read.

Finally, thank you to all parents who managed to attend teacher meetings over the last week we love to share how well class three are progressing, if you have any questions before the next meetings please email or catch us at drop off and pick up.

Thankyou all for a great week Miss Rogers and Mrs Field
