Class Three Pobble Writing.

18 Jun 2021

Friday is Pobble Day!

Every Friday is our Pobble writing day. This is a creative writing session with no set outcome  - it is an opportunity for the children to write anything they want with just one focus - their own writing target.

The class are given a picture prompt from the really popular website, Pobble, which they then use as inspirationfor a piece of creative writing. The children can write in any genre - so stories, poetry, information texts, recounts - anything, as long as they use the chance to practise their writing target, so these might be using fronted adverbials, using capital letters and full stops in the right places, adding more description, everyones is different.

Today our prompt was this unusual picture - entitled "mystery eggs". I was blown away by the variety of writing and the children's creativity so thought I would share some. It is activities like this that shown how brilliantly unique each child is and how they always bring their own spark of creativity to their work.

Investigating Friction

Today the class conducted a fair test to investigate if different surfaces have an impact on the motion of a car. We discovered that they certainly did! The children worked really well in groups, sharing the fun jobs and recording their findings carefully. Next week we will be moving onto magnets so if children have any magnetic toys or equipment they would like to bring in, we would love to see them!
