Stone Age Boy- 3.11.20

06 Nov 2020

This week in Class 3 we are looking at the book- Stone Age Boy in English.

This week we have been creating speech bubbles for the characters and then turning this into dialogue with the correct punctuation. We quickly identified that the only words which go in the speech bubble are those which the character actually says. This helped us work out where to put the speech marks when we wrote the dialogue.

In Maths we continued our work on addition and every one of us impressed Miss Rogers with our independent work. We have been looking at column addition and although we are able to use whichever method works best for us, we all had a go at column addition and lots of us were able to solve some very big addition problems.

On an afternoon we have been doing some extra English and Maths and this week we have revised our knowledge of nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs and in maths, place value.

Our theme work this week moved us from the Stone Age through the Bronze Age and Iron Age, we looked at Stone Henge. Today we created some pieces of artwork based on Stone Henge.

We also combined history and Geography looking at the Geography of the Uk today, then comparing it to the Stone Age and adding key places we learnt about during our topic.

Please remember to make sure you are doing your maths homework and going on TTRockstars regularly. We are checking to see who has been doing this.

Happy Birthday to William and Eliza, who have both had their birthdays this week. We hope everyone has a nice weekend!
