Dreaming of holidays!

We have come to the end of our writing unit where we have been focusing on writing a holiday brochure. The focus for our sentence building was the island of Sicily. We explored different writing tools to enhance our writing and write a persuasive text to make the reader want to visit.
We then used the computers and our own knowledge of a place we had visited to find out about the landscape, buildings, food and weather. Once we had completed our research we wrote our own holiday brochures.
We knew that we needed to describe the country in detail using adjectives, nouns and adverbs. It had to contain facts and data and also some opinions. We needed it to be persuasive so people would want to visit. We put all of this together in our work and tried to include some intersting language too.
In PE this half term we have been doing rounders. We have developed the skills needed of bowling and batting and also working as a team to field.
On Tuesday, we were very proud of Xander and George for representing our class in The Fountains Music Concert. Xander played the piano and George played his guitar and they both performed brilliantly!
Next week is our last week before the summer break, we are planning to have our art and DT activities. If you have any egg boxes, please can they be brought into school by Wednesday for a pneumatic project!
Please could children also make sure they have a bag in school to bring home anything from their tray and locker.
