Football, Easter and the end of term!
20 Mar 2024
We have reached the end of the spring term!
On Wednesday, Class 2s football team travelled to Boroughbridge to take part in the finals after qualifying last term. They did really well showing great team work and won! They adults who went with them said they all showed super sportsmanship and supported each other. A fantastic achievement, Well done boys!
In RE this half term we have been looking at the big question "Why do Christians call the day Jesus died Good Friday?"
We have listened to the Easter story told in the bible and thought about what was happening on each of the special days. We discussed the events and thought about how Mary might have felt during these times. We then listened to children from different parts of the world and how they celebrate Easter where they live and the special things they do to show their faith.
We then made posters to represent each day using collage materials. We discussed important symbols and feelings attached to Palm Sunday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday and linked these to colours for our work.
In PSHE this half term we have been thinking about the puzzle piece Healthy Me. We have thought about the different choices we make and how the things we do can help us to be healthy. Over the last couple of weeks we have been focusing on working together as a team. First we all had a jigsaw piece and had to find the people who completed our puzzle. In our teams we then worked together to design a potato character. We had lots of fun making our creations this week - what do you think?!
Have an egg-cellent Easter break Class 2! See you in the Summer term
