Uniqueness, myths and PE!
06 Oct 2023
This week in Class 2…
It is dyslexia awareness week which is an annual event run by the British Dyslexia Association to raise awareness and further understanding of dyslexia. In school we have been finding out what dyslexia is and how it can impact on how we learn and the difficulties people with dyslexia may experience with reading, writing or spelling. We know that we are all unique and have different strengths and things we find challenging so we thought about our superpowers that make us who we are.
We found out that the way our brains are wired mean that we think, learn and process information differently. We might be more logical thinkers or be more creative!
We have come to the end of our writing unit which was based on the book Theseus and the Minotaur. We have really enjoyed exploring the plot points from the story and exploring different writing techniques over the last few weeks and were keen to use what we have learnt to write our own myth.
First we planned our myth and thought about the main plot points. Then we created our characters – a hero and a villain.
After planning and discussing our ideas, we wrote our stories! We look forward to sharing these with you later.
In PE with Mr Whitford we have been focusing on football. We have thought about skills of control, communication and body language and how to use these effectively in our sport.
Next week:
Harvest service Tuesday 10th at 2.30pm
Church worship and coffee morning Wednesday 11th at 9am
Have a lovely weekend,
