Class Three- Statistics, Animation and Non-Chronological Reports
06 Jul 2023
This week has been another busy week in Class Three.
In maths we finished off capacity for Year Three and Position and direction for Year Four. Both year groups are now looking at statistics, we began this unit by looking at pictographs and bar charts.
In English we have spent time writing our Non-Chronological Reports. These could be on anything we wanted as Miss Rogers wanted us to be passionate about the subject we had chosen. In the weeks prior to this we explored examples of Non Chronological Reports to learn about the features and then spent time learning about bullet points, paragraphs and writing in the third person. Here are our finished pieces.
We have really loved our animation unit in computing. We began thinking about what animation is, the children could name lots of examples. Then we found out about the history of annimation and made our own flip books with stickmen animations. Next we used software called Pivot (which you can download at home for free https://pivotanimator.net/Download.php ) to create a computerised stickman annimation.
Finally we used PurpleMash's 2animate (again children can login at home and use) to create a background and add a moving annimation on top. Next week we are going to add sound and effects to these to further improve them.
Next week-
It’s Science Day for the whole school on Tuesday.
We have Mr Powell for PE on Thursday so please can the children have their PE kits on school on Thursday.
The School Council are hosting a film night on Thursday after school. Get your tickets ASAP if you haven't already.
Have a lovely weekend!
