Class Three- Royal Coronation
04 May 2023
This week was slightly shorter with the first of many bank holidays in May, but we have packed a lot in.
In maths we finished our second fractions unit. The children have done well remembering their prior learning and building on this.
In English we continued our traditional tales unit and next week we will begin to create our own alternative version of Jack and the Beanstalk.
In Theme we researched the pyramids and then explored what life would have been like for the Ancient Egyptians.
Alongside all this work from our curriculum we also found time this week to learn about an important life event which is happening this weekend- The Coronation of King Charles the Third.
We worked with the Year 5s to learn some songs about the coronation. We made paper chains, bunting, flags and posters to help us celebrate the event. We also learnt lots about King Charles and the Coronation itself.
Then on Thursday afternoon we had a Coronation Garden Party. We had written invitations to our grown ups so they could come and enjoy a drink and slice of cake with us.
Have a lovely long weekend!
