Class 3 – maths, guided reading and spelling games
29 Apr 2023
We have had anther great week in class 3. We have continued our understanding and application in fractions during maths lessons, but this learning always seems to make us feel hungry. Especially, when we imagine sharing pizza and chocolate bar shapes between friends.
This week class 3 have also have developed our cricket and athletics skills in PE – ask us at home to see if we can demonstrate the long barrier fielding technique from cricket.
Furthermore, we have merged our learning of Ancient Egypt with our guided reading sessions. This means reading about comparisons between our lives now and the way Ancient Egyptians lived. This week we read about chores and jobs – our chores at home didn’t seem too bad after some interesting Egyptian revelations.
As always, we have our spellings to learn for next week. As we are currently concentrating on common exception words (words that don’t fit any of our learnt rules for spelling) we have tested our knowledge in game-based scenarios to help our learning. Everyone worked really hard and well together testing each other and supporting in each other in the learning of spellings to take forward.
Well done class 3 – enjoy the bank holiday and we will see you on Tuesday next week
