Class Three- Food Technology
29 Mar 2023
Well what a busy end to the week we have had.
We finished writing our narratives. They had to include a magical object which could take us anywhere or give us superpowers. But other than that Miss Rogers let our imaginations take control. Miss Rogers is looking forward to reading these and seeing us apply all teh different skills we have learnt about during this unit, from expanded noun phrases to dialogue.
We finished our Science unit answering the big question how does water exist in all 3 states of matter.
Then at the end of the week we spent time doing Food Technology. Linking to our earlier Science and PSHE work we made a healthy meal of vegetable soup and bread. The children looked at existing soups before choosing which vegetables they wanted to include in their soup. As well as thinking about the nutrition in our soup we were focusing on a lot of skills; grating, chopping hard food, chopping soft food, draining, peeling, mixing, kneading and shaping. We then followed simple recipes and with Miss Rogers and Mrs Brammah's help we made soup and bread from scratch.
Here are lots of photos of the children at work.
We hope you have a great break over Easter and we will see you back in school on Tuesday 18th April.
