Class Three- Judaism, Science and TTRockstars
22 Mar 2023
On Wednesday, along with the rest of the school we had an RE afternoon focusing on our world religion this year, Judaism. During the afternoon we looked at why the festival of Passover was important to Judaism. The children retold the story of Passover, they thought of 5 words they would use to describe Moses. We discussed how God had esnured his people were freed and whether we agreed with that.
We then learnt about how Jews celebrate the festival, we looked closely at the Seder Meal and what each of the components represents. Once we had done this the children had to explain which symbol they thought was the most important and why.
This week we have also done lots more Science work, we explored the water cycle and the role evaporation and condensation play.
To try and increase the amount the children are using TTRockstars over the past few weeks we have set up battles between Year 3 and 4. The programme takes the average number of correct answers for each year group and at the end of the week we see which year group has won. The Year Threes won the first two battles and so got 5 minutes extra break. During the battles I am able to see how many points each child has got, Isaac D and William were the TT champions for their year group, with Isaac scoring over 1,500 points!
Have a lovely weekend!
