12..11.21 - Delving into Science and Celebrating Our Differences
12 Nov 2021
We have had a fabulous week getting stuck into our new science topic - Sound. The children have thoroughly enjoyed learning about how sound travels. I hope that some of them have explained it to you. Perhaps ask them and see what they can remember!
They have explored the vibration of particles and understand why we can hear sounds through walls or other barriers. They pretended to be the moving particles and made their own apparatus to explore this concept further.
We have started a new puzzle in our Jigsaw PSHE sessions - Celebrating Difference. We have been looking at the ways in which we often judge people by appearances and make assumptions about how old they are, what they do or what they might like. The children explored the influences in their lives - media, parents, family, personal experience - to work out why they might have those views. They had lots of interesting ideas.
Children In Need is next Friday. Please see the separate post. We look forward to another week of learning with a bit of fun at the end of it !
Enjoy your weekends.
