Today we will continue our BFG English Unit.
In this lesson, we will analyse the opening scene of The BFG and generate vocabulary to describe the setting, what we can hear and what we can see. We will then think about how we feel when we watch the opening and how we can reflect this in our writing.

Today we will consider the Christian festival of Easter.
I would like you to learn about the story behind the Easter celebrations, to understand better some of the events of Holy week and the importance of this festival for Christian believers.
I have put a Powerpoint in teams that is a modern retelling of the events. I have recorded each page if you would prefer to hear it read aloud. Just click on the sound button on each page. (look at the files section of teams - class materials- Festivals Easter.)
In our call this afternoon we will think more about the Christian symbol of the cross and how this is linked to the resurrection of Jesus. so this afternoon, I would like you to draw or make a cross. There are many ideas for how you might do this. I have included a template if you would like to use itr t, ohere are some creative ideas on Christian crosses from around the world in the following powerpoint.
-Crosses around the world.pptx-
Template if needed:
-Activity Sheet Tissue Paper Cross-Editable.doc-
Your work should represent the Christian symbol of the cross whilst also celebrating the resurrection of Jesus. (This activity can be completed before or after our call, but I would like to see them all please!)
Any problems just email class3@gfschools.co.uk I will get back to you as soon as I can. Don't forget to send me your RE Cross please. See you at 2pm for our teams call.
