Good morning class three. I hope you are all well. I have seen all the work that you have sent through to Mrs Lewis and I am very impressed. You have all clearly been working very hard. These are your tasks for today. I hope you enjoy them.
Maths
I would like you to go onto MyMaths and, after having completed the online lessons for your year group, complete the online homework task.
Both activities are a recap on bar multiplication or division. I would like you to log onto the website, click the year 3 or 4 online lesson for bar multiplication and then click on the online homework task, that has been set for you.
If you are struggling, then please drop me an email: class3@gfschools.co.uk and I will do my best to help you.

Charanga
There are two tasks in Charanga this week. One is based around the Bob Marley song “Three Little Birds”:
Just like last week, you need to listen to the Bob Marley song and write the answers to the following questions in your workbooks:
- What style of music is this song?
- How does this song make you feel? Why?
- Does the tempo of the song stay the same all the way through?
- Did you hear a hook, riff or solo in the song?
- Do the dynamics of the song stay the same all the way through?
Once you have answered the questions, why not have a go at singing it? I’d love to see / hear your performances π.
The other task is just a fun song that I thought you might like to have a go at singing:

(It is called freestyle sing and you can even make up your own dance for this one π).

Woodland Art
This task is a mixture of writing and art. I would like you to go for a walk, with a grown up, to find the following items (if you can) and take a photo:
- A Daffodil
- An animal
- A tree
- An unusual pebble / stone
- A puddle
- A pretty leaf
Once you have photographed your items, I would like you to create a ‘Springtime’ collage (piece of artwork). Next to each picture, I would like you to write a brief description of each object, for example, what it is, where you found it and why you chose it for your collage. This can be done on a piece of paper, in your workbooks or on a computer – I don’t mind. Remember to use full, interesting and descriptive sentences and take special care with presentation and spellings.
Reading
I would like you to spend at least thirty minutes reading some of your AR book. I know a lot of you are trying hard with your quizzes, which is fantastic – keep it up. I am very proud to see that so many of you have already achieved your AR targets - a very very big well done to you!! There is still lots of time for the rest of you to be completing your quizzes. Let’s see who else can get to their targets by the end of this week.

A little extra…
In keeping with our ‘anonymous friend’ activities that we were doing before school broke up, I thought it would be a lovely thing if we carried them on at home. Now, we can’t do it in the quite the same way as we did at school so rather than being ‘anonymous friends’, I thought we could do ‘kindness tasks’ at home.
For example it could be: tidying a room, leaving a thank you note to mums and dads, making a sibling a snack, giving someone at home a hug……
2.6 Challenge
It has been great to hear about your 2.6 challenges…..I am struggling for ideas so I would be interested to hear if any of you guys have got any suggestions for me....drop me an email and let me know π.
Learning Project: Animals
The project this week aims to provide opportunities for you to learn more about keyβ βanimals that interest you. Learning may focus on exploring the physical aspects of an animal, their habitat, categorising animals etc.
Really use this time to wonder, explore and reflect on animals that fascinate you. Choose activities from the list below or if you can be creative in a different way please do! We would love to see what you create and find out so remember to send us a quick snap of any animal work to class3@gfschools.co.uk
Let’s Wonder:
Create fact files about deadly predators. Draw pictures of the predators and label them with the information you find out. Where does the predator live? Why does it live there? What does it eat? How does it capture its prey? What special qualities do these predators have? Make a βfood chainβ to demonstrate why a predator is at the top of the chain. You could make a set of βtop trump cardsβ using the information you have found out.
Let’s Create:
Explore the artist βFranz Marcβ. Find out who he was and what type of artist he was. What did he like to create pictures? Look at some of his paintings online. Then choose an animal to draw and add colour to, in a similar style to his. What do you think of his paintings? Did you like your finished piece of artwork? Why?/Why not?
Be Active:
Get out into the garden and make a βbug hotel.β Go on a mini beast hunt and record what you find. If you find any minibeasts you haven’t seen before you could always look it up online. What can you find out about these amazing creatures?
Time to Talk:
Find out which animals are your family members' favourites and why. Have a family debate about whether zoos should exist. Discuss whether you agree/disagree and why? Do your family members have a different opinion to you? Why not debate whether animals should be kept as pets?
Understanding Others and Appreciating Differences:
Which animals are sacred around the world and why? Sacred Animals Who admires cows? Lions? Wolves? Which animals were important to the Egyptians and why?
It is lovely to receive all your work and photos of things you have been doing. If you wanted, you could always send me a video as well. I hope you are all keeping well and safe.
Take care of one another, be safe and be kind!! Missing you all π π
Love from Miss Vetch
