The end of the half term!
25 Oct 2019
We have come to the end of the first half term! It has been a long half term but you have all settled into class 3 routines and worked very hard. I hope you have a lovely half term holiday.
On Monday, class 3 went to Ripon Leisure Centre to take part in the Sports hall athletics event. There were children from three other schools taking part.
The field events to participate in were – standing long jump, chest push, vertical jump, speed bounce, standing triple jump and javelin
The track events were – 1 and 2 lap relay, over/ under relay and a team relay.
The children all had the opportunity to take part in a field and a track event and showed good team spirit cheering each other on. The children put effort into the events they took part in and tried their best. Well done class 3!
On Wednesday we had a visit from author Andy Seed. He was very funny and shared one of his new books with us – A dose of Gross. It was really interesting to hear about what it is like to be an author and how he writes his books.
This week we have also been finishing our theme work on Ancient Greece. We researched art they liked to create and found they often decorated pots with pictures to represent aspects of life and used different patterns. We used this information to design and paint our own Greek pots.
