Year 6s Leavers treat!

21 Jul 2022

On Tuesday, I had the pleasure of treating the Year 6 children to a day out. Thanks to the Friends of Fountains generosity, we were able to really spoil them and reward them for all their hard work this year, and during their time at Fountains.

We picked the hottest day on record for our day out, but luckily the journey to Castleford was air conditioned on the bus and when we entered Xscape, it was also relatively cool, so I think we were pretty lucky!

Our day began with climbing; the children were clipped in and then off they went! They really enjoyed challenging themselves to climb as high as they could, and they were so supportive and helpful towards each other.

Next, we made our way to the bowling alley. The children split into three groups, one per lane for the bowling. Some of the children hadn't been bowling before and so weren't sure how it worked. They all soon got the hang of it and loved it! Once bowling was over, the children had their lunch.

After a bit of time spent together, we snuck upstairs for an ice cream! There were a variety of flavours to choose from and they were definitely most welcome on a hot day!

Finally, we completed dinosaur crazy golf! 18 holes of dinosaurs and undulating ground. This was another hit! The children enjoyed scoring the golf and competing against each other.

What a wonderful day we had! Just what the Year 6s deserved! Thanks again to Friends for financing it.
