How to train your dragon!

We are currently reading ‘How to train your dragon’ as our class novel. We are really enjoying the author’s use of language and imagination when describing the variety of dragons living on the Isle of Berk. 

This week, we have began to look at poetry in English, and we have used dragons as our stimulus. 🐉 

The children have written their own acrostic poem using ideas from the book. They have done a super job, and I have added a few for you to read. I’m particularly impressed with the ‘purple pen work’ on show. This is their editing, and it really shows that the children are thinking about the audience and purpose for their writing whilst trying to improve it.
