Our narratives set in Roman times

04 Dec 2020

The children have completed their story writing this week. They really enjoyed writing the narratives, and I have enjoyed reading them! Each child has written a story that is set, or has reference to Roman times. They have also considered whether they could include a flashback of some sort in their writing too.

As always, the children had a lot to think about whilst writing. They had previously each decided on the purpose and audience for their writing, and also how they wanted the reader to feel whilst reading it. To achieve the impact they wanted, they were focusing on including: figurative language, a variety of sentence openers, a variety of sentence structures, direct speech, character and setting descriptions, feelings and emotions. The list goes on!

I have included a few of the finished products below for you to have a read of. Enjoy!
