Being Persuasive!

09 Jun 2022

Just before half term, we completed a persuasive writing unit. Our stimulus was the end of KS2 SAT tests that the Year 6s had recently completed.

The children were able to decide on the viewpoint they wanted to take, so whether they were for or against SATs. We had a mixture, although more children were against than for!

We spent some time looking at good examples of texts and picking out the key features. We then looked at the key grammar and punctuation that stood out from the texts and that we would need to use.

Whilst planning, we kept the purpose and audience central to our thoughts and completed a plan alongside a boxed success criteria.

It was then time to write and edit our work. Some of us typed up our finished piece of writing after further editing.
