Location, location, location

17 Oct 2019

Class 4 have been focusing on their geography knowledge over the last couple of weeks. They have been learning about the position and significance of the lines of longitude, lines of latitude, the Tropics, the equator, the prime meridian and many other zones on Earth.

They defined some of the terminology, and then created a map together, which they added labels to.

The children have created some super fact mats about the different time zones on Earth. We had lots of fun working out where it is night time during our daytime and vice versa. We feel very lucky to live on the country where the Prime Meridian passes through!

The children have been finding out about the famous explorer, Captain James Cook and all of his adventures. They have produced some wonderful Non-chronological reports about him which demonstrate their excellent research skills.
