Monday 11th January
         Class 4

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a lovely weekend in the snow! I will be doing 2 teams calls today - one at 1pm for Year 6 and one at 1.30pm for Year 5. I have sent you an invite to your meeting. You should be able to join it through the invite at the start time, or if that doesn't work, you can join at the correct time in the usual way. You will need a piece of paper and a pen or pencil. Let me know if you have any problems.
I look forward to seeing you all then!

Thank you to those of you who sent me your work on Friday. I got plenty of art work and a couple of pieces of spelling work. I'm hoping to receieve even more today now there is less snow! The piece of work I'd like to see from today is either your English information or your RE report. You can either upload them to Teams in the 'files' section or you can take a photo of it and email it to me at class4@gfschools.co.uk enlightened

Don't forget that you need to do 30 minutes reading today and some physical exercise too. Look at the home learning tab for information about both of these. Remember, you can do these activities at any point during the day.

Your lessons for today are...

English

If you remember, on Thursday we started a unit on biographies of inspirational figures. Today, we are going to carry on with this unit.

Your learning intention for today's lesson is: To gather information on an inspirational figure.
This is lesson 4 in the unit, which is correct - I have missed out lesson 2 and 3.

To access this lesson, click on the link below and watch the video. You will need to pause the video at different times during the lesson to give you time to do the tasks. You will need paper and a pencil or pen for this lesson.

Maths

Today's lesson will follow on from Friday's lesson about adding mixed number fractions. We are going to be looking at subtracting mixed number fractions today.

Watch the video below to find out what to do. You can pause it at any time to give you time to do the calcultations.

Year 5, here are your activities...

Year 6, here are your activities...

If you found the maths a little tricky last week, which is completely understandable whilst you're at home and are only being taught by a video, then I have put an alternative on for you today. So if the above activities look a little too difficult then you can do the below instead. These will still be a challenge, but hopefully will be a little easier...

Here are the questions...

We will mark this maths work together on our teams calls this afternoon. Please have your answers ready for the call.

Afternoon

RE

As we're following our timetable as closely as possible, we have RE this afternoon.

We're carrying on with the unit titled - Was Jesus the Messiah?

I have uploaded a powerpoint with my slides on; this explains what I would like you to do. There is a volume icon on most slides, so please click on that to hear me explaining the slide and what to do.

Have a great day. Mrs Barker smileyx
