Thursday 14th January
         Class 4

Good Morning Class 4! I look forward to seeing you all later on our Teams calls. smiley
enlightenedToday looks like...
English - To start writing a biography about Harriet Tubman.
Maths - TT rockstars & Multiplying fractions.
1pm Teams call for Year 6.
1.30pm Teams call for Year 5.
Art - This is the second lesson on Claude Monet (Please send this piece of work to me today. You can do this via email at or upload it to Teams in the 'files' section).

Don't forget that you need to do 30 minutes reading today and some physical exercise too. Look at the home learning tab for information about both of these. Remember, you can do these activities at any point during the day.

I think it's time to start using Dojos. smiley I have been really impressed with your inputs on Teams calls and also the quality of the work I have received, therefore I am going to start giving out dojos when I think they are deserved. I will add them on to the app on the ipad each day, and on a Friday, I'll let you know how many you each have.
Remember to look at the daily Collective Worship. You can find it under the News & Events tab on the website, under School News.

Your lessons for today are...

Yesterday, you planned your biographies and so today, you are going to begin writing your biography of Harriet Tubman. Your aim today will be to write the first 3 paragraphs.

Your learning intention for today's lesson is: To write a biography.

Here is the link you need. Remember to pause your video whenever you need to. You will need to have your plans with you for this lesson.

These are the answers for yesterday's maths activities:
  -Y5-Equivalent-fractions-answers 13.01.21.pdf-
  -Y5-Multiply-unit-fractions-by-an-integer-answers 13.01.21.pdf-
  -Y6-Multiply-fractions-by-integers-answers 13.01.21.pdf-

Well done to those of you who completed your tt rockstar sessions yesterday - there were 16 of you who did. I have given out some dojos! You each have 5 more sessions to complete today. I will be checking as the day goes on to see how you've done. Here is the link:

Today's maths follows on from yesterday's and so is about multiplying fractions. Hopefully, the work we did together on our Teams calls yesterday will have helped. Here is the video to watch (Year 5, you might want to watch yesterday's video again instead of this one as that will help with your activities).

I have only put the two activities on today as I know that you're all capable of giving one of these a go!
Here are your activities...

Today, we are doing the second lesson in our art unit about Claude Monet.

I have uploaded a powerpoint below which will talk you through the lesson. Where you see a volume icon, there is a recording of me for you to listen to, so just click on it and press play.

As with the lesson last week, it was originally planned to be done with acrylic paint, but obviously you can use whatever you have available to you.

This is the piece of work I'd like you to send me today. You can do this via the class email address or by uploading it to the file section of teams.

Have a great day, and I look forward to seeing you all this afternoon. Mrs Barker smileyx
